The bill (Reg. No. 8551), submitted by the Cabinet of Ministers, amends clauses 1 and 9 of the Law "On the Armed Forces of Ukraine", and supplements this Law with clause 11, which extends the list of cases, when the units, military divisions and subdivisions and alert forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine can use weapon and operational hardware in peace-time.
The Committee members stated that the goal of the bill is to implement several international legal acts in the domestic law of Ukraine concerning anti-piracy, counteraction to arms trafficking, trafficking in drugs, psychotropic substances, their analogues or precursors in the waters of the high seas, and participation of Ukraine in the international peacemaking and anti-terrorist campaigns.
